Shyma manages the overall services provided by Correl Counsels LLP. Her practice is primarily in legal review and advisory services, with a focus on foreign investment and commercial law. She advises on matters such as investment structuring, legal vetting and drafting of documents, review of commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and conducting transaction related legal due diligences.
She has gained valuable and insightful legal experience in private practice advising foreign investors and local businesses on legal requirements, corporate support services as well as providing turnkey and custom designed solutions and best practices specific to a business needs.
She is well-informed in regulatory practices of the Government of Maldives having served in the legal section of the Ministry of Tourism, where she obtained invaluable technical knowledge into the regulation of tourism properties. Additionally, she is well versed in matters of Employment law and regularly advises businesses on compliance with employment rules.
Shyma is a licensed Public Notary in the Maldives and holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) (LLB) from the University of London, UK.
