On 26 October 2021, the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) announced investment opportunities for foreign and local investors seeking to develop and operate tourist resorts in the Maldives. MoT along with the Ministry of Economic Development has published key information on the 18 available islands with a range of USD 200,000 to USD 1,500,000 set as rates for the minimum lease acquisition cost (MLAC) of different properties as shown in this map.
